Object Classes

The terms for object classes listed here were derived from the encyclopedic organization of the Brandenburg-Prussian Kunstkammer. Each object has been assigned at least one term. The terms were not taken from the historical sources, as was the case with materials or motifs; rather, they were assigned to the objects by the project team to improve filtering in the object search. From over 300 entries, the following overarching terms for object types were derived: naturalia, artificialia, scientifica, memorabilia, and mirabilia and curiosa.
